Government Newspaper Issue (in Greek) for Master 'Informatics & Multimedia) 
The Department of Informatics Engineering of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete accepts applications for postgraduate studies starting from the winter semester 2012. The accredited program of studies leads to a Master of Science degree in 'Informatics & Multimedia' approved by the Ministry of Education, Life long Learning & Religious Affairs (Government Newspaper Release 1282/11-4-2012).

Scope and objective
The postgraduate program 'Informatics & Multimedia' has duration 18 months (3 semesters) and aims to provide candidates with high quality theoretical and practical knowledge on established and emerging topics in Informatics and Multimedia. The program is organized around modules (courses) comprising theoretical and laboratory work which is undertaken in the first and second semesters. The final semester is devoted to submitting a research-oriented thesis proposal ( Student Guidelines for Master  ,  Supervisors Guidelines for Master  ,  Thesis proposal form  ,  Notice of intention to submit thesis  ,  Masters thesis template ver  ) on a competitive subject which is developed into a Masters thesis and submitted for approval. At the end of the postgraduate program successful candidates should be able to demonstrate expertise in a selected domain of Informatics and Multimedia as well as competence in defining, organizing and conducting research.

Studies Program’s innovations
Since the academic year 2015 -2016, the study program has been improved and enriched, offering a range of privileges and advantages making it one of the most competitive programs in the academic field of our country.

Elective Courses – Specialization
From offered courses of the first two semesters of study, two (2) of them are required (one per semester) and six (6) are elective (three per semester) from the total of 17 courses of this study program.

Furthermore, there are 3 specializations
1st Network Engineering and Multimedia
2nd Software Technology and Applications
3rd Intelligent Systems and Computer Architecture
In order for a student to obtain a specialization 4 out of the 6 courses must be from the specialization.

i) Possibility of full or part time attendance  of the courses
There is now a choice of full or part-time study, depending on availability and time are able to spend every student to complete the MSc. The part-time course attendance needs  two (2) courses per semester and doubling time of completion of the monitoring of the MSc in three years.

ii) Possibility of acquiring additional patented degree (MSc) in collaboration with the University of Burgundy (France).
There is also the ability - after agreement with the University of Burgundy to those who would  attend an additional semester (English courses) at the University of Burgundy in France and on condition that they will accomplish also a common postgraduate project (Master - Thesis), to acquire and a second a recognized postgraduate degree <<IN COMPUTER VISION>> University of Burgundy from the partner institution.

iii) Provision of Scholarship Studies
We offer to graduate students of the 2nd and 3rd semester the chance of scholarship - monetary value equal to tuition fees (600 €) of the semester and they obligated  to 6 hours of teaching in undergraduate laboratories. The selection of grantees is upon application and evaluating progress of candidates from the MSc officers.

Time Period
The Master Program "Informatics & Multimedia" has a duration of 18 months (three semesters) and leads on a recognized postgraduate degree approved by the Ministry of Education, Life-long Learning & Religious Affairs (Government Newspaper Release 1282/11-4-2012).

Dates of Applications
Applications for the MSc are accepted throughout the academic year, from September to July, while the opening of the MSc is consistent each time with the start of the next academic year, September is the month which is starting point of the study program.
Tuition Fees: 1800 €

Candidates
The postgraduate program accepts 40 candidates per academic year starting from October 2012. Applicants should possess a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer and Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized higher education institution. A number of scholarships are also available for candidates.
