Short Description:
Digital sound synthesis theory and practice. This module continues from Sound Synthesis I.
Amplitude Modulation (Classic & Ring Modulation), Frequency Modulation (simple, multi carrier, multi modulator, feedback), Waveshaping (Graphic, Chebyshev Polynomials, Delay Lines, FIR & IIR Filters, Comp Filter, Flanger/Phaser, Pitch Shift, Multi-Tap Delay, Reverb, Spatialization.
Students apply sound synthesis principles in the design of various software synthesizers in the MaxMSP programming environment.
