* Monday 30/05, 18:00 : Modelling in SimScape (2h lecture)
This lecture introduces a tool for so-called physical modelling in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. A model of a system is created by combining/connecting elements (such as resistors, capacitors, sources in electrical domain) and after that, dynamical equations are built automatically. This allows to create and analyse models of complex systems from different physical domains including mechanical, electrical, thermal, magnetic, pneumatic and hydraulic.
Further, details about causality and reusability of models will be discussed.
* Thursday 02/06, 18:00 : Modelling in SimMechanics (2h lecture)
MATLAB/SimMechanics allows physicalm modelling of complex 3D mechanical systems such as industrial robots, car suspension, kinematic mechanisms and others (multi-body systems). The model is defined by geometry and inertial properties, equations of motion are built automatically. Direct integration in Simulink allows connection to other physical domains or control system built in pure Simulink.
* Friday 03/06, 16:00 : Parameter Estimation and System Identification (2h just lecture)
Modelling is a fundamental and key matter in mechatronics. However, meaningful and rewarding modelling requires good knowledge of model parameters which are very often unknown and difficult to obtain.
This lecture deals with System Identification, the set of techniques and approaches to obtain models and their parameters from measured data.
