Dr. Dimitris Karayannakis curently serving as a Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Informatics Engineering of TEI of Crete .He holds a double major BSc (Mathematics & Physics) from the University of Patras and he pursued graduate studies in Rumania and France where he obtained, respectively, a MSc/ABD and a DEA in Mathematics. He obtained a MSC in Mathematical Physics from the UIUC, USA, where he also obtained his Ph.D in the field of Harmonic analysis.He also followed PostDoc research on wavelets theory, at UIUC and later at GIT,Atlanta. He is the author singleand/or jointly of many research and /.or educational article in international and in Greek journals. He has authored two monographs (in Greek) on Signal Analysis and on Linear Algebra, that are used as textbooks by various Greek HE Greek state institutes. From 1990 to 2000 he served as an Assist. Editor of Crete University Press. His current research interests lie between the topic of special functions (in the pure mathematical sense) and convex analysis (in the applications of computer mathematics sense).
