Dr.  Emmanouil  Marakakis has studied Mathematics at the University of Ioannina (1979), Master of Computer Science at the University of Concordia, Canada (1984) and PhD in Computer Science at the University of Bristol, UK (1997).

Dr.   E. Marakakis is Professor in the Department of Informatics Engineering. Initially he worked at the Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research and Technology ( FORTH ) in European research programs from 1986 until 1992. He has been working as  full-time  academic staff  in TEI of Crete since April 1989.

His main research interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence "logic programming, knowledge systems, automated software engineering, natural language processing.".
