Dr. Ioannis Pachoulakis received his B.Sc. in Physics at the University of Crete, Greece and holds an M.Sc. in Science in Engineering / Information & Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Physics & Astronomy, both from the University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA.

He has worked on client-server logistics software for transportation companies that use multiple modes (trucks, trains) to move merchandise in time at minimum possible cost under various constraints.

From 2000 to 2003 he worked on a number of National and European projects at the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas in Heraklion, Crete.

Since 2001, he serves at the Department of Informatics Engineering at TEI of Crete with mainstream interests in the recording, study and modeling of 3D motion, as well as the development of realistic multimedia applications in virtual and augmented reality focused on rehabilitation and restoration of function.
