The Counseling and Psychosocial Support Centre (CSSC) is a new service available to any member of the Institute society, including students, professors and administrative staff. Its goal is to contribute to a smooth and effective adaptation to the education process, which can be hindered due to either personal problems or the particularly stressful conditions that merely arise from this process.
The Centre has a support group that comprises a Doctor from the Institute, Psychologists, a Social Worker and a Nurse, when needed. In the meantime, the Centre, several community bodies and private individuals (Hospitals, Social Welfare Organisation, Psychiatrists, etc.) are working together when an intervention is required.
The Centre focuses on Psychological health issues aiming at primary and tertiary prevention (Community Psychology Hygiene and reintegration into the education process) covering the whole range of mental disorders. Prevention is a main goal of the Centre obtained through psychological training and information about topics of interest, in person or in groups (announcements, workshops, conferences).
Furthermore, intervenes, when asked, in cases that cause social difficulties, such as interpersonal and family relationships, and in particular relationships that arise from the education process (Professor – Student relationship or relationship between colleagues).
The provided services are completely free of charge and subject to a strict protocol of medical confidentiality.
The Centre is open during the academic year from 09:30 to 13:30, Monday to Friday, appointment required, except for emergencies. It is open ONLY for the members of the TEI community. Email: counselingcenter@staff.teicrete.gr
It is located behind the Clinic; telephone number: 2810-379541
