The unique role of a nurse consists in helping a person, healthy or ill, to perform these activities which promote health or recovery (or a peaceful death) and which the person would perform, if he/she had the necessary strength, will or knowledge. Nursing care does not discriminate on the basis of age, group, family or community and it includes promoting health, preventing illness and taking care of the sick, the disabled and those who are about to face death.
